Back when I was a MassCom major, I took at least 25 units per semester. That was a lot of time spent in school.

Due to my sudden surge of curiosity regarding my old blogs, I finally found one. And it’s really old. I think it dates back to 2005, and it links to my old Photobucket and has information on a long-forgotten Yahoo account. It’s a treasure trove, guys. But I’m not going to tell you where it is, because it’s embarrassing.

I think one of the best things I dug up from that site is a page filled with my Mass Communication prospectus. Why I decided to encode everything from piece of green paper, I don’t know. Maybe I just needed to play around with keyboard. Maybe I’m just that precocious about some things.

Anyway, here it is, because it’s interesting to me still:

I no longer really remember what I took after 2006. It seems blurry to me. It took me a year to realize that I didn’t have to follow the prospectus to a tee; that I don’t have to take 25-30 units every semester; that I don’t have to be in school from 8 am – 7 pm. that I can go to university part-time. (In the Philippines, it is more common that students go to school full-time, even in college.)

Around third year, I slacked off. I was going to leave for the US anyway. So I took random general education classes listed in my prospectus like Rizal and Nippongo just to fill the semester and still get to see my friends.

Then I left, and attended ARC in Sacramento. It’s different here. Work and school go hand in hand, if you’re independent. The number of units one is allowed to take is way lower than the 25 I was used to, so I felt a little bit badass when I learned that fact. Then again, people here work and go to school at the same time, so the load is about equal.

And now I shall get back to that old website and see what I else I can find.
